ShrinkifyMedia is a collection of free browser-based media editors and utilities, not a file-hosting or cloud-conversion service.

Files are processed locally in the browser. No account is required.
Supported inputs and processing limits depend on the tool, browser and available device memory.
Image, audio, video and PDF upload cards offer Simple and Advanced modes. The choice is remembered locally, not the files or edit history.
Simple keeps supported source formats; video inputs in the audio tool are extracted as MP3. Unsupported formats are explained rather than silently converted.
Image previews show actual encoded sizes. Audio sizes are estimates and video MB values are targets until export. Smaller files can mean lost detail or reduced dimensions.
Advanced video supports reversible internal cuts and local background music. MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, TS and WebM exports try browser-native encoding and decoding with hardware preferred, including supported size targets. Unsupported cases and targets the browser cannot meet use the compatibility engine.
PDF signing adds a visible signature, not a certificate-based digital signature.
The PDF tool compresses, merges, splits, reorders, rotates and numbers pages, watermarks, and converts between PDF pages and JPG/PNG images. It does not convert Office files, run OCR or add passwords.
PDF compression downsamples each picture to a chosen resolution (72 to 300 dpi) for the size it is drawn on the page, re-encodes photos with MozJPEG, re-packs charts and screenshots losslessly and removes duplicate fonts and images. Text and vector content are not changed.
Advanced PDF editing shows 12 pages at a time by default, with 24, 36 or 48 per view available.
The website and editing libraries must be downloaded; local file processing does not mean that the website makes no network requests.
Security safeguards include browser security policies, script integrity checks, file checks and processing limits. They reduce risk, not guarantee protection from every malicious file or browser flaw.
Hardware-preferred video encoding is attempted on supported phones and desktops for H.264 and VP8 outputs. Size targets use a bitrate budget with room for audio; the final size is verified before download. Two-pass software encoding is the fallback. Acceleration and speed are not guaranteed.
Unsaved edits can be lost when switching tools or closing the tab. Download results before leaving.

Latest site update (2026-10-24): New PDF tool for compressing, merging, splitting and reordering pages, with much stronger compression for scans and photo-heavy files. Video size targets also try the browser's encoder first.
