Find your cut on the waveform
Open an audio file, move the trim handles and listen to the selection before saving it. Short fades can soften an abrupt start or ending. You can also open a supported video to save its sound as an audio file, without keeping the picture.
Pick a format for the job
MP3 is a practical choice for sharing; M4A is useful on phones too. WAV and FLAC avoid lossy compression, but converting an already compressed recording won't bring lost detail back. For a smaller download, use a lossy format and adjust quality or the target size where available.
