Convert, crop or just make it smaller
Open a photo, crop out what you don't need, then choose its dimensions and output format. The tool can read HEIC and HEIF phone photos, AVIF, JPEG XL, TIFF and common image formats. It saves JPG, PNG or WebP, so an awkward file doesn't have to stay awkward.
JPG, PNG or WebP?
JPG is usually a good fit for photos. PNG keeps transparent backgrounds and sharp graphics, but a photo saved as PNG can be large. WebP supports transparency and can make compact files for websites. Lowering the pixel dimensions often helps more than pushing the quality slider all the way down.
A couple of things to know
Everything is decoded and edited on your device. Exports are still images, so animation and extra pages from multi-page files aren't carried over. Exported metadata is removed, and your original stays unchanged. Camera RAW files still need converting elsewhere before you open them here.
